About this album

New versions of old songs can be found in our first E.P., such as « Lola I've Got A Brand New Car», « Mama Saved My Soul » or « Rihanna Loves Djab ». And two new songs make their appearance in it : « See Ya' Darlin' » and « Caddy Girl ». « Lola I've Got A Brand New Car», the first track, is an hommage to carsploitation and various old Z movies, hence the engine sound (a real 1971 Ford Mustang) in the beginning of the track. « Target Of Her Mouth », one of our classics, ends the record. We decided to leave the track as it was, when recorded with an numeric camera, and played for the only second time. That take is absolutely raw and sounds more garage than ever.

Bunker Studio

The disc was recorded in Nantes (France) at MyStudio, quite an unusual place, since it is installed in a former german blockhaus dating from World War II. Yann Jaffiol (The Immediates, Les Arondes, Jellyfuzz) was in charge of the recording and mixing process of the first five tracks. The session only lasted a weekend, so we did live takes, except for the voices and the harmonica. The main will of the band was to retranscribe its energy, ardour and wild brutality of its live performances.

Back To The Sixties

The cover picture and the artwork were made by Erwan Mauduit, and were highly inspired by vintage designs of those beautiful years. Besides, the CD itself has been pressed on a CD-Vinyl support, which the visual and tactile aspect of, looks a lot like real 60's and 70's vinyl records.
As regards the picture, it reminds of the universe of Creedence Clearwater Revival, with the Bad Moon Rising in the sky behind the band...

The Foves are the kids from the 60's british blues mixing with 70's wild garage. Called like the Heroes of yesteryear, they dared and managed to mix candidness, rage and love in their raw garage blues music, a real haven for lost thoughts.
